3 things to do after installing Regata OS
The Regata OS comes ready to use. This basically means that you will find already pre-installed some applications that you might need in everyday life, such as a web browser, multimedia player and other applications that we believe are essential for at least a first use. However, this may still not be enough for you. Check right now 3 things to do after installing Regata OS:
1. Updating your Regata OS
After installing Regata OS, the first most important thing to do is install updates. This will ensure you get the latest versions of the apps and of course security and patch updates. You can update the operating system easily through the Regata OS Update update manager.
By default, automatic updating is already enabled, with Regata OS Update looking for new updates at system startup, however, it is possible to configure this behavior in the application's settings.
2. Installing your video card driver
If you have an AMD graphics card or use Intel's integrated graphics, you don't have to worry about installing the video drivers, as the latest versions of the official drivers from both companies are already present by default in Regata OS.
However, if your video card is an NVIDIA GeForce and you want to take full advantage of the hardware, you will need to have installed the driver provided by NVIDIA itself. To do this, go to the app store Regata OS Store and search for your video card model. If the search result shows more than one driver version, choose the latest version (or latest series).
Now there is no secret, just click the Install button to start installing the video driver. When the process is complete, restart the machine.
3. Install some essential apps
On Regata OS, you can install new apps easily through the Regata OS Store. You'll find apps like Spotify, music streaming service, Steam, the world's largest digital game distribution tool, Gimp, one of the best image editors today, OBS Studio, for those who love creating content, and much more!
