Create and manage application shortcuts on the desktop
To create application shortcuts on the Regata OS desktop, drag and drop an icon from the application menu (Launcher) onto the desktop. When doing this, you will see a small context menu. Just click on the second option: "Link Here".
Furthermore, you can also right-click on the icon of the application you want to see on the desktop and choose the option from the context menu Add to Desktop.
You can also click on the first option, which in this case is "Copy here". The difference here is that you will have more freedom to customize the created shortcut. In addition, you will also have to give execute permission when starting the application for the first time using the new desktop icon. To do this, just click on the Continue button in the new window that opens.
Organizing the created shortcuts
By default, application shortcuts on the desktop are placed vertically, however, you can arrange the shortcuts as you see fit. To do this, right-click on the desktop and, in the context menu, go to "Icons". You will see the options:
Sort by - here you choose whether the shortcuts will be sorted by name, type, size and etc;
Icon Size - now it's time to choose the size of the shortcuts;
Arrange In - allows you to organize shortcuts by rows or columns, ie horizontally or vertically, respectively;
Align - in this option, you choose whether you want the shortcuts to be arranged on the left or right part of the screen;
Locked - check this option if you want to block shortcuts in their respective positions.
Hide desktop shortcuts and icons
To hide the shortcuts and icons on the desktop, right-click on the desktop and from the context menu click the option "Configure Desktop and Wallpaper...". Now, in the Layout option, choose "Desktop Containment".
This will make the desktop shortcuts and icons hidden. To return to the previous state, still in "Configure Desktop and Wallpaper...", under Layout option, choose "Folder View".
Creating application shortcuts on the taskbar
